What studio are you currently at?
Uncrowned Ink in Scarborough

how long have you been tattooing?

I started tattooing in 2018 back in Portugal.

How do you describe your style of tattooing?
My style is heavy inspired by the kawaii aesthetic which is the Japanese word for cute/adorable. I absolutely love adding glitter effects, little rhinestone accents, and the embroidered patch style. Those details help me push each design further and give everything a bright and unique finish. I often say that I am kind of allergic to normal because I am always looking for a way to turn a simple idea into something unexpected, joyful, and full of personality. If there is a chance to add shimmer, glow, hearts, sparkles, or anything that makes the piece feel extra special, I am already excited. My goal is to make tattoos that your inner child would love. I want my work to make people smile the moment they see it, like a tiny spark of happiness they carry with them.

What got you into tattooing ?
I have always loved drawing cute little characters and other colourful stuff, so art was a big part of my life from the start.
But what really pulled me into the world of tattooing was something a little unexpected. It all started when I decided to get my very first tattoo. For context, my whole family is a bit conservative about tattoos, so it was never something I imagined having.
But one day, a Mexican artist I had followed for a long time, whose work I absolutely adored, went to Portugal, where I lived, for a tattoo convention. Naturally, I could not miss the opportunity to get tattooed by her on that occasion.
As soon as I booked the appointment, I became completely obsessed with understanding everything, not only about the healing process but also about how the tattooing process itself worked. I started researching nonstop and quickly realised that tattooing would give a purpose to all the drawings I had always created that never really had an ending.
And that was it. I started learning, and I began bringing all the joy and the magical feeling of my designs into the world and onto the skin of the people who follow my work.

Shout out some of your industry friends!
My lovely husband Flip Ink, Ellis Graham & Gareth Bennett. I’m very lucky to have them around, they really helped me when I first moved from overseas and still keep on doing it.

Who do you look up to for inspiration or where do you find inspiration?
I was born in the 90’s, and like many kids of that time, I grew up surrounded by toys, cartoons, video games, and the early days of the internet. Those memories still live vividly in my imagination and deeply influence my art today. Japanese pop culture, especially the kawaii universe, anime, collectibles, and Harajuku fashion, has also been a big source of inspiration.

Your favourite products from The Tattoo Warehouse?
Bubblegum Stencil Jam and Vaidermelon Glide, both are amazing products with incredible quality, and they smell absolutely wonderful! I really think their sweet fragrance completes the whole vibe and experience of getting a tattoo from me.

What has been your most memorable tattoo you have created so far?
To be honest, I do not think I can pick just one. Every tattoo is special in its own way. Each person brings a different story, a different feeling, and a different kind of excitement. Some tattoos are memorable because of the design, others because of the meaning behind them, and many stay with me simply because of the connection I share with the person in my chair.

Song on Repeat at the Moment?
Flamingo by Kero Kero Bonito, it's just my vibe.

What are your favourite things about tattooing?
Definitely getting to know people's stories. The Way I see it, getting tattooed can be a very intimate ritual. Whether I'm tattooing a memorial piece or a fun silly tattoo someone is getting because they lost a bet to a friend, there is always and interesting story behind it. Hearing it makes me feel truly connected to the person in my chair.

What are your least favourite things about tattooing?
Definitely hurting people, it's so unfair that tattoos hurt!

What advice would you give your younger self getting into tattooing?
I would tell my younger self to trust the process and be patient, to enjoy every step, every drawing, and every little sparkly detail. But most importantly, not to compare myself to others. I am and always will be my main competitor.
